Good news for fast-paced action fans. A huge update has just been implemented for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, an amended version of the original. This was no simple fix. It was a complete infusion of new content with patches and fixes to make the return to the world of Ryu Hayabusa even more appealing.
New Game Plus: The Adventure Continues
A prominent new addition is New Game Plus (NG+). For those who have already finished the game and need more challenge, NG+ fits the bill perfectly. You can now start a new game of any difficulty you have completed with all weapons and Ninpo you accrued during your last playthrough. A small caveat exists. Although your weapons will carry through to the new game, their levels will be reset to one. This keeps the challenges enjoyable from the get-go.
Capture the Action: Out Comes the Photo Mode
Ever wanted to immortalize epic moments from combat? Now you can with the newly introduced Photo Mode. Accessible from the game options, this feature allows you to suspend the chaos and line up the perfect shot. Choose any angle, take pictures during Ryu's airborne combos, or admire the exquisitely brutal visuals. The choice is yours.
Quality of Life: Hide Projectile Weapons
An unnoticeable but welcome addition provides an option for keeping projectile weapons hidden if not needed. If you like a clean look for Ryu, select "Show Projectile Weapon" from the game settings. Weapons attached to his back will become invisible until you draw them.
Balance and Bug Fixes: Fine-Tuning the Experience
Team Ninja has also focused on balancing gameplay and squashing problematic bugs. These include:
- Enemy HP Changes: Slightly reduce enemy health during Chapters 8 and 11 to ease the difficulty curve.
- Increase Enemy Populations: Raise the number of enemies in Chapters 13 and 14, enhancing the challenge for veterans.
- Ayane Buff: Some of Ayane's attacks have damage buffs, making her more dangerous.
- Bug Squashing: Numerous bug fixes address control issues at high frame rates, controller vibration issues, out-of-bounds glitches, progression blockers, and game crashes during long play.
Time To Dive Back
New Game Plus, Photo Mode, and a range of tweaks and fixes make this the perfect moment to revisit Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, or experience it for the first time. Whether a well-versed ninja or a rookie looking to hone your skills, this update gives more reasons to jump in action. Happy gaming.
