What an opening for 2025, PlayStation fans. Sony presented one of its most amazing State of Play presentations ever to start the New Year with a bang. There was an eye-popping collection of almost 30 new game announcements and trailers, rolled out in a little over 40 minutes. Sequels we have been waiting years for and completely new absolutely fresh IPs were presented. There was literally something for everyone. Headline Grabbers: Release Dates Locked in

A number of big titles finally locked down their release dates, giving us an awful lot to look forward to in the coming months:

  • Monster Hunter Wilds: Prepare to hunt starting February 28. Capcom has shown off even more of this expected title and has brought back the terrifying Mizutsune.
  • Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater: The remake is confirmed for its launch on August 28. Revive the uncategorically classic into magnificent beauty.
  • Borderlands 4: Loot and shoot your way through Pandora starting September 23. Gearbox dropped a new trailer and confirmed the date for this looter-shooter sequel.

DLC and Updates to Watch Out for

  • Dave the Diver: Ichiban Kasuga from Yakuza dives in with new DLC in April.
  • Lies of P: Overture: The prequel DLC to the Soulslike hit arrives this summer.
