Brace Yourself for Change: Siege X Unveiled
Mark your calendars for 13 March at 22.00 PT / 19.00 CET. Rainbow Six Siege X will be unveiled in a complete showcase by Ubisoft. Watch it live on the Rainbow Six Siege Twitch channel or in person in Atlanta, Georgia.
What is Siege X? Ubisoft has promised big changes:
- Graphics and Sound Overhaul: Enhanced fidelity and immersion are coming.
- Deeper Tactical Gameplay: Ubisoft says strat depth is on another level.
- New Ways to Play: Substantial changes and additions beyond graphics are planned. New modes, mechanics, or a core gameplay overhaul are possible. This is a massive update defining the game but keeping its heart and soul intact.
Operation Prep Phase: Year 10 Begins with Rauora
Year 10 is almost here, starting with Operation Prep Phase. Leaks were accurate. A new Operator is joining:
Rauora: The Breaker and Builder of Barriers
New Zealand is sending Rauora, an Attacker. She has serious gear. Available in the season's launch Battle Pass and unlockable with Renown or R6 Credits after two weeks, Rauora will change attacking.
Rauora's Loadout
- Primary Weapons: Choose between the 417 designated marksman rifle or the M249 light machine gun. Versatility is key.
- Secondary Weapons: Options are the GSH-18 9mm pistol or the new Reaper MK2 submachine gun with red dot sight and extended mag.
- Gadget: Smoke or breach charge utility.
Game-Changing Gadget: Deployable Omnilink Mesh (D.O.M) Launcher
Rauora's D.O.M. Launcher creates an intelligent cover system for doorways. Target a doorway, fire, and get an instant bulletproof barrier.
D.O.M. Launcher Features:
- Full Doorway Coverage: The panel blocks most access, including drones, unlike barricades.
- Smart Drone Detection: The panel lifts briefly for drones, then closes again.
- Interactive Trigger System: Operators on either side can open or close the barrier. Attackers get faster opening and temporary defender lockout after deployment or closing.
Rauora controls battle flow. She can block enemy lines, cut flanking routes, and secure objectives. Imagine combos with Ying or Fuze.
Primary Note: D.O.M. panels are not blast-proof or Oryx-proof. Explosives, Oryx charges, or Jäger's ADS can counter them. Use them wisely.
Year 10 Season 1: Dynamic Matchmaking and More
Operation Prep Phase includes Season 1 launch with Dynamic Matchmaking. This optimizes server performance based on player count. More Year 10 updates are expected on March 13.
