Gamers, brace yourselves. Rockstar Games, always known to lock up all his possible announcements tighter than fort-knox, has thrown a really wild curveball. And no, it's not the GTA 6 trailer which we've all secretly wished for, but it could be the next best thing.
After what felt like years, seriously over a year since they last had any official whispers regarding GTA 6, Rockstar has finally opened a whole new line of communication. Where is it? Why, the place that everyone else is doing it nowadays - Discord. Yes, that Discord.
Rockstar Goes Discord: Is This Real Life
Honestly, the news is a bit of a head-scratcher at first. Rockstar, the masters of mystery, suddenly embracing community chat? It feels unprecedented. But hey, who are we to complain? This unexpected move has fans buzzing with a mix of surprise and, let's be honest, a whole lot of hope.
Could this be a sign that the news for GTA 6 is finally coming? Or maybe Rockstar wants to give their fans a new way of connecting? Whatever the reason is, the official Rockstar Games public server on Discord is indeed live, and it's causing all the commotion.
A Server For All Things Rockstar (Maybe Including GTA 6)
Through subtlety, the official information spoke of creating this new server that would be linked from fan sites. Boom. It burst into minutes, bringing thousands into the fold, and its chat channels now swirl with excited messages overwhelmingly about the elephant in the room - GTA 6.
But it's about more than just the next Grand Theft Auto. This server serves as a hub for fans of all Rockstar titles. We're talking Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and even those classic titles from way back when. There are dedicated channels for different games and activities. Look out for:
- A Grand Theft Auto VI channel under "Latest and Upcoming" - eyes emoji
- Tons of GTA Online channels for finding crews, sharing jobs, and general mayhem.
- Red Dead Online spaces for posse-ing up and discussing your outlaw life.
- And channels for other Rockstar Games, announcements, events, and more.

From there, a voice will signal for role selection during which you may be able to indicate if you wish to join in with GTA Online or Red Dead Online. There are also roles for keeping updated on events, giveaways, official announcements, and all-important Newswire posts.
Rockstar Meets Discord: Not Quite Novices
Oddly enough, this is not the first time Rockstar has dipped a toe or two into the waters of Discord. Back in August of last year, they partnered up with Discord for a little publicity stunt in a fun GTA V promo.
It was then that PC gamers who spent 15 minutes online with GTA Online could receive a bonus Discord avatar adornment. Remember that? They did also quietly launch a WhatsApp channel in 2024 to share updates in a very direct way, kind of in line with their Twitter (or X?) posts. So, while an all-out official Discord may appear a bit leftfield, Rockstar has been trying a lot of different things to connect outside of their usual channels.
GTA 6 Whispers and Fall 2025 Ambitions
Let's not lose sight of the bigger picture, though. We are expecting GTA 6 very much. Just recently, Take-Two's CEO, parent company of Rockstar, left hints about a possible PC version of GTA 6 later on in the future. He also made some comments concerning AI and violence in the game and pretty much said, "don't worry too much". And it most importantly remains on track with that Fall 2025 release window, which, by the way, did a nice little number on Take-Two stock prices.
