RX 9070 Series Support and New APUs

The main headline news is official support for AMD's shiny new Radeon RX 9070 XT, and RX 9070 graphics cards. If you are one of the fortunate few to have snagged one of these GPUs, be sure to grab this driver to unleash the full power of your new hardware straight out of the box. This driver also adds support for a number of AMD's newer APUs, such as:

  • AMD Radeon™ RX 7650 GRE
  • AMD Ryzen™ AI Max+ 395
  • AMD Ryzen™ AI 5 PRO 340 & 7 PRO 350 (with Radeon™ 840M & 860M Graphics)

  • AMD Ryzen™ 9 9955HX, 9850HX, and 9955HX3D Series Processors with Radeon™ Graphics

That is a lot of new hardware getting day-one driver love.

FSR 4 Lands With Next-Gen Upscaling (RX 9070 Exclusive)

For RX 9070 series users, you will soon be enjoying AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4). This most recent version of AMD’s upscaling tech is designed for better image quality and performance. Here is the scoop:

  • RX 9070 Exclusive: FSR 4 will be exclusively launched for Radeon RX 9070 series cards initially.
  • Automatic FSR 3.1 Upgrade: If a game has built-in FSR 3.1 support, it can automatically be upgraded through a toggle in the Adrenalin software to use the new FSR 4 algorithm.
  • Game Ready: AMD claims FSR 4 will be available in over 30 games on RX 9070 cards. Expect to see this list grow.

More Fluid Gameplay with AFMF 2.1

AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) continues to improve. Adrenalin 25.3.1 release notes introduce AFMF 2.1 with better frame generation image quality. This translates to less ghosting and superior tracking of motion in your games. AFMF 2.1 supports:

  • AMD Radeon™ RX 6000, 7000 and 9070 series graphics cards
  • 300 Series Processors for AMD Ryzen™ AI

Prepare for even better gaming quality.

RX 9070 Series Revisited As Adrenalin Software Gets AI Power

It is the AI age, and AMD is bringing a bit of that power to your desktop, at least if you own an RX 9070:

  • AMD Chat: A local and offline GPU powered Chatbot. It can answer questions on your AMD hardware, and guide you through Adrenalin. This includes text and image generation as well.
  • AMD Image Inspector: An AI-powered tool that captures diagnostic data, which helps AMD analyze game quality. Consider this lending a hand to AMD to making games run that much prettier down the line.
  • AMD First Install Manager: A redesign utility to manage the first time users the AMD Chat, graphics drivers, and chipset drivers. There is even an “Automatically keep AMD Software up to date” option. Turn this on and forget about it.
  • Radeon Image Sharpening 2: Revised for greater and faster sharpening of game images, the images from your video player, and even your desktop.

Game Support, Developer Goodies & Bug Fixes

Aside from the big features, this driver update sports:

  • New Game Support: FragPunk, Split Fiction – Optimized.
  • ROCm on WSL for RX 7000 Series: Run workloads based on AMD ROCm software on Windows by using Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL 2). Fantastic for developers and AI enthusiasts.
  • AI Performance Boosts (RX 7000 Series): Performance optimizations in AI workloads in Adobe Lightroom, Topaz Photo AI, and DaVinci Resolve.
  • All New ISAs: With the exception of RDNA 4 and 3.5 on the Developer Updates page for the AMD AIS SDK, AMF SDK, and Radeon Developer Tool Suite
  • Expanded HYPR-RX Support: In-game technology such as FSR and Anti-Lag 2 are now supported in HYPR-Tune. Auto FSR with frame generation in Farming Simulator 25, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, and Silent Hill 2.
  • Support for Vulkan Extensions: Added VK_EXT_depth_clamp_control and others.

Known Issues
