Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8: Twelve New Subclasses Transform Gameplay
Just when you'd think that Baldur's Gate 3 couldn't get any better, Larian Studios hits us with another exciting update. While focused on their next giant game, they are not forgetting about their BG3 fans. Patch 8 is bringing a whopping twelve new subclasses to the game.
New Subclasses on the Way - Time to Reroll
Larian has been teasing some of these awesome additions. They sound truly impressive. Among the new specializations, we are seeing a glimpse of:
- The Magic Archer: Magical arrows offer strategic possibilities with magical projectiles.
- Royal Oath Paladin: This Paladin specialization is focused on shields and keeping your party alive as a tanky guardian.
- Swarm Lord: Command bug hordes and become a creepy, crawly general.
- Drunk Master Monk: This Monk subclass uses booze as a weapon for unique combat encounters.
More Subclasses Revealed
That is not all. Larian already gave us a sneak peek at even more subclasses coming in Patch 8:
- Charming Bard Spec: Charm enemies for strategic advantages. Bards become even sneakier.
- Giant Barbarian Transformation: Barbarians transform into giants in uncontrolled rage.
- Death Domain Cleric: For fans of the "dark and spooky," Death clerics are arriving.
- Star-Worshiping Druid: Cosmic druids tap into the stars, expanding natural magic.
More to Come
Larian is still holding back secrets. They've promised to reveal four more subclasses closer to the actual patch release. Twelve subclasses in total are coming. It is a subclass-palooza.

Larian is truly generous. Patch 8 is going to be gigantic, introducing even more replay value and flavor into Baldur's Gate 3. Drunk Master Monks, insect hordes, giant Barbarians - these additions are significant. Prepare to head back to Faerûn and experiment with all these fantastic new play styles.
