Beelink, the manufacturers of tiny computers, has just launched the SER8 Pro. This mini PC will redefine what you can do with something that fits neatly in your palm. Let us open up this little beast and see what is inside.
Under the Hood: Ryzen 7 Power
Inside the SER8 Pro is an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor. This is not a low-power processor. We are talking high-performance in a compact package. It also comes with integrated AMD Radeon 780M graphics. This is great for general use and even light gaming. It does not come with OCuLink for fast external GPUs, but do not count it out just yet.
To ensure smooth operation, Beelink has included 32GB of fast LPDDR5 RAM at 6400MHz. That is plenty of memory for multitasking and resource-hungry applications.
Storage and Cooling: Ready for More
Storage is well addressed with the SER8 Pro. It has not one, but two NVMe SSD slots. Both can handle PCIe 4.0 speeds. That means you can equip ample storage and have blazing-fast access to data. Beelink boasts a sturdy cooling system. It is designed to maintain performance even when pushing the system hard. No one appreciates a PC that performs poorly under strain.
Connectivity and Features: Compact but Mighty
Despite its small size, the SER8 Pro does not compromise on connectivity:
- Fast networking with a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port.
- HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 outputs, ready for high-definition 4K monitors at 120Hz.
- USB4 port for connecting high-speed peripherals and even external GPUs (though with some bandwidth limitations compared to OCuLink).
- Plenty of USB ports with Type-C and USB 3.2 Type-A (10Gbps).
- A standard 3.5mm headphone jack for audio needs.
- Built-in speakers and a microphone are included. This is very handy for spontaneous video calls or voice assistant use without extra peripherals.
When Can You Get One?
Beelink has not yet shared the launch date or cost of the SER8 Pro. However, the non-Pro variant SER8 already retails at stores like Amazon. We can expect the Pro model to be out soon. If you are in the market for a very powerful and extremely small PC, then the Beelink SER8 Pro is something worth watching.
