Gigabyte Aorus Supreme 5 PCs Bring RTX 5080 & 5090 to North America
Good news for gamers in North America. Gigabyte is riding to the rescue with a new line of pre-built PCs. These are designed to bring that much-wanted Blackwell graphics power to your hands, eventually.
Enter the Aorus Supreme 5
Gigabyte is launching several versions of its Aorus Supreme 5 gaming desktop this week. The highlight is clear. They're filled with either the GeForce RTX 5080 or the monster RTX 5090. These GPUs are paired with AMD's flagship Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor. It's a high-end combination aimed squarely at serious gaming performance.
Built for Gamers, Inside and Out
Beyond the core specs, Gigabyte also seems to have thought through the user experience. The Supreme 5 case includes items that will make it easier to manage and care for than many standard desktops.
- Built-in carrying handles on top are neat for dragging it around.
- Tempered glass side panel pivots for easy access.
- Latches and tool-less filters and covers simplify cleaning and upgrading.
Internally, it's all Aorus. You receive Gigabyte's in-house parts, including:
- An X870E Aorus motherboard.
- A high-powered 1000W Aorus power supply.
- Aorus liquid cooling for CPU temperature maintenance.
- A screaming-fast Aorus PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD, with reads up to 14,500 MB/s and writes up to 12,700 MB/s.
Even the RAM and SSD modules are tool-free for removal or installation.
The Catch Price and Availability
Here's the reality check. This sort of hardware doesn't come inexpensively. The Aorus Supreme 5 starts at a whopping $4000 for the RTX 5080 configuration. Despite the lofty price tag, demand seems to be robust. As of this writing, all models are already backordered on Newegg, the exclusive launch retailer for now. Anticipated delivery dates are already stretching from late March into early April.
So while the Aorus Supreme 5 offers a potentially less enraging path to obtaining Nvidia's latest graphics cards, it requires both a hefty budget and a level of patience.
