HUAWEI Qingyun L420x: Unique Laptop with Kirin Processor and OLED Display
HUAWEI has released a unique laptop, the Qingyun L420x. It stands out due to its use of a HUAWEI proprietary Kirin processor. It also features a behemoth-sized OLED display. This is all packaged into a machine with long battery life.
A Feast for the Eyes: The Display
The 14.2-inch OLED display is a key feature. It is large and sharp, presenting a 2880x1920 resolution. Movement is notably smooth with its 120Hz refresh rate and a 1920Hz PWM dimming rate for eye comfort. HUAWEI highlights its wide color gamut coverage and modern eye protection technologies. These are certified by TUV Rheinland (Comfortable Eye Certification 3.0).
Under the Hood: Kirin Power and Performance
An unspecified Kirin processor, HUAWEI's internal silicon, fuels the Qingyun L420x. It is paired with either 8GB or 16GB of RAM. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB drives.
Battery Longevity
A 70Wh battery keeps the device powered. HUAWEI claims it provides in excess of 14 hours of video playback. For quick charging, a 15-minute charge provides up to 25% battery life.
Operating System Options and Connectivity
Customers can choose between operating systems: Kylin Desktop OS V10 or Tongxin Desktop OS V20. This suggests the laptop is intended for specific markets or enterprise clients.
For peripherals, the Qingyun L420x includes:
- One USB Type-C port
- Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports
- An HDMI port
- A standard headphone jack
- An Ethernet port
Build and Portability
The laptop has a thin metallic body. It measures 312.6 mm wide, 226.8 mm deep, and 14.5 mm thick (12.3 x 8.9 x 0.57 inches). It is portable, weighing 1.32 kg (around 2.91 lbs).
