Nintendo's "Nintendo Today" App Delivers Big News

Amazingly, Nintendo made this significant announcement through its newly released "Nintendo Today" mobile app. This is a sure sign that they intend to turn this platform into a hub for major announcements down the line. The app, available on both iOS and Android, aims to be the everyday source for Nintendo news, videos, and more.

The Team Behind Hyrule's Creation Revealed

First teased last November of 2023, the project heavily involves Nintendo in production. Industry legend and series creator Shigeru Miyamoto is co-producing with Avi Arad. Arad is a veteran producer of numerous box office hits, especially in the superhero category.

Directing will be Wes Ball, whose credits include the Maze Runner trilogy and the recent Planet of the Apes franchise. Derek Connolly is writing the film. Connolly's credits include some of the biggest blockbusters out there, including the Jurassic World films and Pokémon: Detective Pikachu.

This collaboration brings together Nintendo's creative vision with Sony Pictures Entertainment's distribution and filmmaking abilities. Nintendo is putting significant financial muscle into the project, funding over half of the budget, with Sony handling global theatrical distribution.

Live-Action Hyrule: What to Expect

Following the enormous success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, fans are eagerly awaiting Zelda's film debut. While animation proved to be magic for Mario, Nintendo and Sony have decided to follow the live-action route for Link and Zelda's adventure.

Casting rumors and plot information are possibly still some time away. However, the movie is officially set for March 2027. Fans who have been hoping for years to see Hyrule realized in live-action are delighted.
