Razer Blade 16 & 18 Get RTX 50 Series Power and New Processors
Razer has rolled out its refreshed Blade 16 and Blade 18 laptops. They are sporting the latest heat from NVIDIA's RTX 50 series of GPUs as well as brand-new Intel and AMD chips.
The Razer Blade 16: AMD Ryzen AI vs. RTX 50 Power
Blade 16 is a winning combination of the new AMD Ryzen AI processors and the new graphics muscle of NVIDIA. These are the configurations in detail:
- Starting Point: Priced at launch with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (12GB GDDR7). This configuration, along with 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, costs $2,999. Adding 64GB RAM and a 2TB SSD will cost another $800.
- Mid-Tier Muscle: Step up to the GeForce RTX 5080 (16GB GDDR7) keeping the same Ryzen AI 9 365 CPU. The entry 32GB/1TB configuration is $3,499 with the upgrade to 64GB/2TB adding $300.
- Best-In-Class Performance: For the optimum Blade 16 experience, you get the powerhouse Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and the serious GeForce RTX 5090 (16GB). The behemoth starts at a staggering $4,499, with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. Bringing the storage up to 4TB doubles it to $400.
Outside the fundamentals, the Blade 16 keeps its breathtaking QHD+ 240Hz OLED screen. Look for the same lean construction, RGB keyboard, a decent 90Whr battery, and contemporary connectivity such as WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The Razer Blade 18: Intel Core Ultra and a Larger Canvas
If Intel inside is your preference or you desire a larger screen, Blade 18 elevates the experience with Intel's Core Ultra 9 275HX processor (from the Arrow Lake-HX series) and an 18-inch screen. The larger model also boasts proprietary dual display modes: UHD+ at 240Hz or FHD+ at whopping 440Hz.
- Blade 18 Entry: The Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX RTX 5070 Ti variant starts at $3,499 (32GB RAM/1TB SSD included).
- Stepping Up: The RTX 5080 version starts at $4,099 (32GB RAM/1TB SSD included).
- The Flagship 18-Inch: The best-of-the-best Blade 18 pairs the Core Ultra 9 275HX with the RTX 5090. That configuration costs $4,899, which reflects the bigger display, dual-mode display technology, and potentially bigger core count from the Intel chip versus the Blade 16 top model.
The Blade 18 generally shares the same design aesthetic but features a slightly bigger 99Whr battery to power its bigger display and hardware.
