AMD RDNA 4 Graphics Card Rumors: RX 9060 XT Forward, RX 9070 GRE Back
There's another round of rumors circulating on the internet about AMD's upcoming RDNA 4 graphics cards. It seems like the release schedules for some key models – the ones aimed directly at mainstream customers – are undergoing a bit of a shakeup. The speculation is that at least one of them is being pushed forward. Let's examine what's being suggested.
Good News for the Mainstream: RX 9060 XT Moving Up
For those viewing more budget-friendly or mid-range options, there is some news that may be of interest. The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT series, which was previously rumored to come out sometime in June, is now being reportedly pushed forward. The new launch date is said to be May 18th.
That's just a few days in advance of the opening of Computex 2025, which feels like a well-timed move. We might expect to see these cards being presented by the various board partners at the show. While it's unclear if this date is for an announcement or a complete retail release, the timing does give the impression that things are ramping up for this series.
As per what's been circulating, the RX 9060 XT is expected to come in two flavors: a 16GB version and an 8GB version. Both are expected to use a 128-bit memory bus. They are expected to stick with GDDR6 memory at 20 Gbps, which works out to a total bandwidth of around 320 GB/s. If the rumors are true, AMD wishes to price these quite competitively, possibly in the $300 to $400 range, which will be paving the way for some intense competition with whatever NVIDIA has planned in that segment.
On the Flip Side: RX 9070 GRE Sees a Delay
Now, for the bad news. AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE version, previously speculated to launch on an earlier May 8th, is being pushed back significantly, it's reported. This card, which is said to feature a somewhat cut-down Navi 48 GPU and 12GB of memory across a 192-bit bus, might not see the light of day until much later in 2025, perhaps targeting the Q4 timeframe, perhaps even as late as the big 11.11 sales promotion, which is very popular in China.
If this delay is accurate, it might imply that gamers interested in this particular 12GB version might have to wait longer. Previously, 'GRE' models have often been tailored to specific markets, especially the Asia Pacific, so a focus around a major regional sales period would not be a huge surprise.
Keep the Salt Shaker Handy
As always with pre-launch information and alleged leaks, it's wise to take this with a grain of salt. These dates and specifications are from unofficial sources, like the information posted by "@realVictor_M" referencing "Board Channels". In the tech world, things move very quickly.

However, the possibility of the RX 9060 XT arriving sooner is certainly exciting for budget builders. We will have to wait for an official statement from AMD to determine the final plans.
