CMF Phone 2 Pro: Joining the Mid-Range with a Telephoto Lens
Get ready for a new player in the mid-range smartphone arena. Nothing's sub-brand, CMF, is making waves with the launch of its CMF Phone 2 Pro, which will be available on April 28th. Unlike its budget-friendly predecessor, the CMF Phone 1, this new phone seems to be aiming at a higher segment with some really interesting features.
An A-List Camera Setup
Perhaps the biggest selling point on the CMF Phone 2 Pro is the camera setup that CMF is specifically highlighting. Why. Because it's going to have a telephoto lens. That isn't something that you usually see in mid-range phones, so it is a pretty significant upgrade.
Word from official information, some released on Flipkart and through a company executive, verifies camera information:
- A fast 50 MP primary wide-angle lens with a 1/1.57" sensor size (same as the Nothing Phone 3a).
- A dedicated 50 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. This is the star of zoomed-in shots and portraits.
- An 8 MP ultra-wide lens, giving you a wide 119.5° field of view to fit more of the world in.
Where specific telephoto and ultrawide sensor dimensions remain unclear, the arrangement of such a component in this cost category is an immense step above CMF Phone 1's straightforward 50 MP main and 2 MP depth sensor. Even the fact that a dedicated telephoto lens finds its way in at this price is revolutionary when it comes to being able to take distinct, zoomed shots.
Aside from Cameras
With the "Pro" credentials, the phone is powered by a robust MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chip. With the processor joined by the enhanced camera hardware, it actually merits a position in the mid-range category.
And What About the Price
CMF has not yet made the Phone 2 Pro pricing official. Yet, given the major hardware upgrades, particularly the addition of the telephoto lens and the increased processor power, it's likely that there will be a significant price increase from the CMF Phone 1. It seems that CMF is poised to provide a more premium experience to its users.
