Devolver Digital Reveals Top Earning Game Franchises

If you're a fan of indie games, you'll know Devolver Digital. They're very good at finding and putting out some crackers. Well, they've just informed their investors some pretty interesting figures that let us take a look at which of their games have been the most profitable throughout their lifespan.

Devolver's Top Earners Revealed

In a recent talk, Devolver outlined the lifetime revenue of all game franchises that they have ever published. What they found is pretty interesting. The top three franchises which have raked in the most revenue are:

  • Cult of the Lamb: Leading the pack with a whopping $90 million
  • Astroneer: Trailing closely with $80 million
  • Stronghold Series: With $50 million

It's interesting to note that while the Stronghold series took 11 games to achieve that $50 million mark, Cult of the Lamb did it all by itself with $90 million in revenue as a standalone game title. That's insane for one game.

More Success and What's Next

Devolver brought 37 of their hit series into this revenue chart. Collectively, these titles have made about $430 million in total. That's a lot of money for a publisher that's been recognized for supporting independent developers.

Eager to create, Devolver now has six new games in the pipeline. This is welcome news to anyone who enjoys medieval themed strategy, as it's revealed two major new additions to Stronghold. It almost seems like that old-time favorite franchise has plenty of life left in it, then.

It's terrific each time to see the business side of gaming, especially for the publishers who put in risks on creative indie projects. These statistics prove that putting money in creativity pays dividends.
