Motorola Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro Introduced: Setting a New Standard

Motorola has just introduced two intriguing new additions to their roster: the Motorola Edge 60 and the Motorola Edge 60 Pro. These aren't to be found in the budget bin. These help set a new standard with some simply amazing specs.

Motorola Edge 60 Series Smartphones

Premium Touches and a Dazzling Display

Immediately, you can tell that these phones share a similar design language to their elder sibling, the Edge 60 Fusion. Imaginative, a curved screen that feels great in the hand, and a unique fabric-like feel on the back. And, for good measure, they both come with an IP68 rating, meaning they can take a splash or even a dip in water.

But the real star may be the screen. Both the Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro feature a 6.67-inch pOLED screen. This is no ordinary screen – it boasts a silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate and an incredible peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Try to picture just how readable and bright this will be, even in the direct sun. And to unlock is a breeze with the fingerprint reader built directly into the screen itself.

Grab the Moment with a Versatile Camera Setup

Motorola wasn't stingy with the cameras in this case. Both the Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro each come with a competent triple camera setup on the back, as well as a high-resolution front-facing selfie camera:

  • The main camera is a 50-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a decent 1/1.56-inch sensor to capture plenty of light.
  • For the wide-angle shots, there's a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens with f/2.0 aperture.
  • Need to zoom in There's a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.0 aperture and 3x optical zoom.
  • Selfie fans, rejoice. The front camera is also a sharp 50-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.

Motorola even mentions optimizations with Pantone, which means the cameras are tuned for accurate and natural color capture, especially for skin tones. Nice touch.

Edge 60 Pro Edge 60

Performance and Power

Under the hood, the two phones are not much different. The lower-end Edge 60 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip and comes with a good 5,200mAh battery. Fast wired charging at up to 68 watts is supported via USB-C.

Going for the jump to the Edge 60 Pro gets you the speedier MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor. This version also features an even larger 6,000mAh battery and takes the wired charging speed up to a speedy 90 watts. And for added convenience, the Pro version even comes with 15-watt wireless charging – something the standard Edge 60 does not have.

Pricing and Where to Buy

How much are these then The Motorola Edge 60 is already released in most European countries. It can be had with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage and will set you back €429. The Motorola Edge 60 Pro will soon be released with the same 12GB/512GB spec and will cost €599. Warning, however, it seems these exact models aren't planned for release in the US market.
