Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders Announced: April 24, 2025

Nintendo fans, the wait is over. Nintendo has finally announced when to pre-order the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 in the United States: April 24, 2025. The countdown starts to get your next-generation console.

Good News: Console Prices Are Not Increasing

Exhale that massive sigh of relief. Nintendo has released news that the Switch 2 console itself is still going to be exactly as indicated.

Nintendo Switch 2 (Stand-alone Console): $449.99

Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle: $499.99

Prices for both digital and physical versions of Mario Kart World ($79.99) and Donkey Kong Bananza ($69.99) are finalized as well. With regards to console and games, everything is sweet and as the plan goes.

Accessories Will Cost a Bit More

Here's the less-than-cheery part of the announcement. Official Nintendo-made Switch 2 accessories are getting more expensive. They're attributing it to "changes in market conditions."

Accessory Old Price New Price Price Increase
Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller $79.99 $84.99 $5
Nintendo Switch 2 Camera $49.99 $54.99 $5
Joy-Con 2 Controller Pair $89.99 $94.99 $5
Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip $34.99 $39.99 $5
Joy-Con 2 Strap $12.99 $13.99 $1

Nintendo Switch 2 All-In-One Carrying Case $79.99 $84.99 $5
Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter $29.99 $34.99 $5

These price increases add up if you grab some extras right away. Consider this when planning your new Switch 2 setup.

Pre-Order Delay and Tariffs

Pre-orders were originally planned earlier in April, but were delayed due to tariffs. Potential tariffs on products from certain countries threw a spanner in Nintendo's initial pre-order plans. They needed to reassess the situation.

Luckily, they've weathered those stormy waters, and pre-orders are back on track for April 24th.

Launch Date Still June 5th

The release day for the Nintendo Switch 2 still remains firmly attached to June 5, 2025. Pre-order on April 24th to get your hands on the new system early this summer.

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are just around the corner, console prices are still the same, but accessories will be slightly more expensive.
