Xiaomi recently launched their new device, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro

And what's the best thing about it. It is the first smartphone to hit the market with Qualcomm's brand new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. This phone is like it is going to deliver some serious oomph and features without costing an arm and a leg.

Performance and Power That Impress

Speaking of that new chip, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro doesn't mess around. Its initial tests have it scoring a massive 2.4 million points on AnTuTu's benchmark – flagship territory. To keep that power in check, especially when you're pushing it hard, it comes with an upgraded 3D Ice cooling system covering a massive 6000 mm² of real estate.

Driving the lights on is a big 7550 mAh battery. And when you need to charge it up, you won't have to wait long thanks to the addition of fast 90W wired charging. Just a heads up though, there is no wireless charging on this model.

Sharp Display and Capable Cameras

At the front, you get a decent flat 6.83-inch LTPS screen. It boasts a sharp 1.5K resolution and becomes very bright, going up to a maximum of 3200 nits, which is great for use outdoors. Integrated into the screen is a 20-megapixel front camera for all your video calls and selfies.

At the back, the camera setup is led by a 50-megapixel main camera (the Sony LYT-600) featuring a wide f/1.5 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS) for steadier shots. It's followed by an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera that's perfect for capturing broader views.

Other Things You Might Not Expect

Redmi Turbo 4 Pro Harry Potter Edition

The Turbo 4 Pro doesn't skimp on extras. It has an IP69 rating, so it's extremely resistant to dust and water – a nice bonus. There's also a fingerprint reader discreetly hidden under the screen, stereo speakers that get nice and loud, and even an infrared blaster, which is always a good thing to have for device control.

One such very clever tech that Xiaomi introduced is their own standalone positioning system, which can compute your location even if it doesn't rely on GPS. Clever.

And if you wizards and witches are reading this, there's even a Harry Potter Edition. Obviously a cool option for those fans.

China Pricing (And What About the World?)

The Redmi Turbo 4 Pro will be arriving in China with some aggressive price tags:

  • The 12GB RAM + 256GB storage version is priced from 2199 yuan (about $300).
  • It will be 2999 yuan (about $439) to upgrade to 16GB RAM + 1TB storage.
  • The 16GB RAM + 512GB storage Harry Potter Edition Special is priced at 2799 yuan (about $385).

When it comes to its international launch, rumors have it that it might arrive on foreign markets under a different name, maybe the POCO F7. We will have to wait and see.
