RoboCop: Rogue City 'Unfinished Business' Expansion Coming July 17th
Great news for all who loved to clean up the streets of Old Detroit as the iconic RoboCop. Publisher Nacon and developer Teyon just handed us the official release date of the long-awaited standalone expansion: "RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business." Prepare to impose the law again beginning on July 17th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
With how much of a success the initial "RoboCop: Rogue City" was – yes, it actually ended up being Nacon's biggest launch ever. Only makes sense to build on that. And that is what "Unfinished Business" aims to do.
Following Where the Action Picked Up
This expansion picks up immediately following the events of the original game, right after the "New Guy in Town" was defeated. The focus here is on OCP's new giant undertaking: the OmniTower. It's not a building; it's a massive housing complex constructed particularly for the inhabitants of Old Detroit.
But before long, things go from bad to worse when a group of high-end mercenaries force their way in and takes control, declaring the OmniTower their own heavily fortified stronghold. And who's left to go in and clean up after them. You know it – RoboCop.
Inside the OmniTower: High-Tech Threats and Brutal Combat
The mercenaries are not sitting targets. The OmniTower is equipped with cutting-edge defense systems. Get ready to face hovering drones, bomb-laden robots, automatic anti-personnel machines, and deadly traps on almost every turn. Furthermore, the high-ranking soldiers are heavily armed, sometimes even with mini-guns, jetpacks, and surprisingly, katanas.
But RoboCop is not afraid of the challenge. You'll wield his full range of gear, from the traditional Auto-9 pistol to a shiny new Cryo Cannon that sounds like it can cast enemies in ice. And if you enjoyed slamming enemies around in the original game, prepare for some nasty new finishing blows. RoboCop is not some guy with a sidearm; he is the sidearm, capable of smashing bad guys into walls or vending machines with raw power.
Stepping Back in Time: The Alex Murphy Missions
Maybe one of the largest additions for lore enthusiasts will be the special missions that enable you to travel back in time. "Unfinished Business" returns players to the role of Alex Murphy himself, before the accident that would change him forever. The flashback missions promise to involve returning characters and to give an additional glimpse into the suit man, all courtesy of the legendary voice of Peter Weller once more bringing Alex Murphy to life.
Adding another layer, you'll reportedly get to play as OCP scientist Miranda Hale in one of these flashback sequences. It seems the expansion is really digging deep into personal relationships in Old Detroit.

If you loved the texture of the original, you'll be happy to know that the key ingredients are back. "Unfinished Business" has that winning formula of visceral, rewarding fight mixed with smart investigation phases and those light RPG elements that made the core game so captivating.
