Ubisoft Announces Might & Magic Fates: Classic Series Goes Mobile with Web3 Twist

It seems Ubisoft is once again pushing new technological frontiers. This time bringing the classic Might & Magic series onto mobile with a twist. They've just announced a new free-to-play title called Might & Magic Fates.

What is Might & Magic Fates, Exactly

From the sounds of it, Fates is developing into a strategy card game. Players build decks and compete against one another to determine the fate of the game's multiverse. It's being developed for mobile devices, specifically iOS and Android, first. Though there is talk of a potentially more feature-complete version landing on PC down the line. So, if strategic card fighting is your bag, this might be something to watch for.

Now, About That Twist

Here's where things begin to sound somewhat familiar if you've been following Ubisoft's earlier experiments. Might & Magic Fates will include an optional Web3 component. What's that in English. Players will apparently be able to purchase exclusive digital content. The kind that you actually own, better known as NFTs.

Given the developer of Fates, this news does not come as a massive surprise. The game is being created by Immutable, a development studio that specializes in games utilizing cryptographic tokens and blockchain technology. So, the foundation for these features is definitely there.

Looking Forward to Release

If you're wanting to give Might & Magic Fates a go yourself, mark your calendars. The game will be released sometime in early 2026.

It will be interesting to see how the Web3 elements are integrated and received by Might & Magic's long-standing, loyal fan base. Will it be a step forward, or another tentative experiment. Only time will tell.
